MillicellHanging Cell Culture inserts with Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) membrane are ideal for the growth and differentiation of various cell types. This individually sterile-packaged insert has an 0.4 μm membrane pore size and fits in most 24-well plastic tissue culture plates.

In plastic tissue culture plates, cells can access media only from their apical sides, but in Millicelltissue culture inserts, cells can access media from both their apical and basolateral sides. As a result, cell growth, structure, and function more closely mimic what occursin vivo.

The insert’s flanged design suspends it within the culture plate well and makes it possible to access both sides of the cell monolayer. Spaces between three protruding arms facilitate pipetting between the outside of the insert and the culture plate well.

The Scepter 3.0 handheld automated cell counter provides a fast and convenient method for counting cells and particles and is compatible with both the 40 and 60uM sensor. The system employs the Coulter principle in a miniaturized, handheld, format enabling rapid cell counting; what used to take 10 minutes now takes less than 30 seconds. The user prepares a dilution of the cell culture of interest and uses the Scepter cell counter to aspirate a sample of this dilution into the Scepter sensor.
